Survivor
finalist Andria "Dre" Herd has been slapped with a
paternity lawsuit by a woman who says he fathered a son in
November.
Herd, a Wilmington native, appeared in this year's Survivor
series, set in Fiji. The 25-year-old walked away with $100,000
and a pickup truck valued at $60,000.
The mother, Amanda S. Young, gave birth Nov. 30 to a boy named
Luca Finley Young, according to a birth certificate filed with
the New Hanover County Register of Deeds.
The lawsuit seeks child support and reimbursement for medical
expenses relating to the pregnancy, along with medical
insurance coverage for the infant, who is now nearly seven
months old.
The lawsuit was filed in May, shortly after the Fiji
installments of the popular television series concluded.
Herd is also the father of a 2-year-old boy. He or Young could
not be reached today for comment.
